Kickboxing Classes by the Numbers, 2026
We mapped every kickboxing gym in America — 5,673 gyms with 410,206 customer reviews between them. Here's what the data says: how much a membership actually costs, which states have the most gyms per resident, where the kickboxing capitals are, which franchises run the most locations, and what else these gyms teach under one roof. How much does kickboxing cost a month? The one-line answer
The most-asked question about kickboxing, answered from the 470 gyms in the directory that publicly post a price: membership is about $79 a month, with most gyms landing between $30 and $120. The full picture — price bands, what's driving the spread, and the state-by-state index — is on the Kickboxing Class Cost Index.
Which states have the most kickboxing gyms per capita?
Nationally there are about 16.7 kickboxing gyms per million residents. The per-capita crown goes to Rhode Island at 36 gyms per million — 40 gyms for a state of 1.1 million people — with New Jersey at 33.5 and New Hampshire at 27.7 close behind. Kickboxing clusters where fitness and fight culture run deep, not simply where the most people live — which is why the gap between the top and bottom of this table is worth a look before you go hunting for your first class. At the other end, West Virginia has just 4 per million.

What else do kickboxing gyms teach?
Kickboxing gyms are rarely one-discipline rooms — 93.9% also teach at least one other martial art under the same roof, an average of 3.3 other disciplines each. The most common companions: Self-Defense (63.7%), Boxing (63%), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (54.1%), Muay Thai (52.8%). That's the real shape of the American kickboxing gym — often a full striking-and-fitness house, not a single-style studio.
