From the reviews

Fantastic place to train for all ages! They really focus on making each student becoming their personal best. Instructor Hill and Nicole really go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome and encouraged. This place is about so much more than just Martial arts!

Enjoyed watching Tiny Champs. Instructors kept the little ones engaged, learning, and having fun. Very impressed with the range of activities and amount of training in a short amount of time!

We have been coming to the South 153rd st. Location of Premier Martial arts, since March of 2022. My oldest daughter came to me wanting to learn some Martial arts for self defense, exercise. I also felt that in would help with her self confidence, balance, and coordination to do something like that.

★★★★★ — Anthony, Jul 2022

We are so happy with Premier and it’s owner Shane Taylor. My kids started taking classes there a few months ago and they love the class and the instructor Mr. Rohner! We decided last minute to have my sons birthday party there last weekend and they were amazing!

New to kickboxing? Start at Premier Martial Arts Omaha

Premier Martial Arts Omaha comes up as a beginner-friendly gym — noted on their own site. If you've never thrown a punch or a kick, that's exactly who a good beginners class is for. A few things worth knowing before your first week. First, you don't need to be fit or coordinated to start — you get in shape by training, not before it, and coaches scale every drill to you. Second, you won't be thrown into hard sparring — reputable gyms build the basics (stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads and bags) first, and any contact eases in gradually under a coach's control. Third, all fitness levels really are welcome — ask about a dedicated beginners or fundamentals class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most gyms are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.

Your first kickboxing class at Premier Martial Arts Omaha

Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Kickboxing is a contact sport. Warm up, pace yourself, listen to your coaches, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
