From the reviews
My daughter absolutely loves Toe2Toe Martial Arts! Sensei Joel is incredible. He has so much patience with the kids and really knows how to meet each child where they are. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping them grow in confidence, discipline, and skills. The environment is always welcoming and encouraging.
I was nervous at first.. the staff made me feel very welcome.. after several months of attending classes. I could tell I was getting stronger and was more confident in my ability to protect myself.. Curtis and Joel Both are great instructors..
Toe2toe is a wonderful place. I signed my son up for kickboxing and jiujitsu with them and he loves it. It’s such a friendly environment. The instructors are always friendly and care about each and every student. Since beginning here, my son’s confidence has grown tremendously and his respect.
My kiddos are in the 4-6 age range Toe2Toe classes which are offered M, T, Thurs, and Friday. I am beyond excited for the progress I’m seeing in my kids. This week alone they have improved in their self discipline, awareness, and respect toward their siblings.
New to kickboxing? Start at Toe2Toe Martial Arts & Self Defense Training
Toe2Toe Martial Arts & Self Defense Training comes up as a beginner-friendly gym — noted on their own site. If you've never thrown a punch or a kick, that's exactly who a good beginners class is for. A few things worth knowing before your first week. First, you don't need to be fit or coordinated to start — you get in shape by training, not before it, and coaches scale every drill to you. Second, you won't be thrown into hard sparring — reputable gyms build the basics (stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads and bags) first, and any contact eases in gradually under a coach's control. Third, all fitness levels really are welcome — ask about a dedicated beginners or fundamentals class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most gyms are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.
Your first kickboxing class at Toe2Toe Martial Arts & Self Defense Training
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
