From the reviews
We love Premier Martial Arts West Town! My daughter has been training for six years and the change in her has been amazing. She's gone from a timid little girl to a confident young woman.
Life changing for my kids and myself. Started out for my Son and was interested for behavioral reasons. My daughter was second to join after begging to be in it! Honestly, to watch them improve is the biggest reward as a parent.
We love West Town Premier Martial Arts! Mr Billy and Mr Xander create a welcoming and educational environment. My neurodivergent son has grown in many ways, just in 5 months. He is socializing and listening in class, he's practicing and tries hard in class.
Premier Martial arts is an outstanding martial arts school. We have had a great experience there since beginning in August 2013. The instructors and staff are very dedicated to the training and mentoring of these kids. Highly recommended by this Mom and student. Thank you Premier.
New to kickboxing? Start at Premier Martial Arts West Town
Premier Martial Arts West Town comes up as a beginner-friendly gym — noted on their own site. If you've never thrown a punch or a kick, that's exactly who a good beginners class is for. A few things worth knowing before your first week. First, you don't need to be fit or coordinated to start — you get in shape by training, not before it, and coaches scale every drill to you. Second, you won't be thrown into hard sparring — reputable gyms build the basics (stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads and bags) first, and any contact eases in gradually under a coach's control. Third, all fitness levels really are welcome — ask about a dedicated beginners or fundamentals class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most gyms are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.
Your first kickboxing class at Premier Martial Arts West Town
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
