From the reviews
Both of my daughters (12 and 7) have enrolled and it is so exciting to see them grow their skills and confidence. The teachers are talented martial artists who make class fun and are able to break down martial art techniques in a way that is easy for the students to learn.
We have only been members at Premier Martial Arts Riverton for a month; but it has already been a game changer for my child. She has more confidence in herself; and the classes are a good physical outlet for her.
David the owner who runs this school is passionate about sharing his love of martial arts with the students. He is involved and truly cares. Very structured classes which allows the kids to stay engaged and learning throughout the class. Overall positive and respectful environment to learn in.
The instructors here are excellent. They're patient, knowledgeable, and very supportive for students of all ages. They are responsive and work hard to help with scheduling conflicts and questions. My daughter loves working with them and also has nothing but good things to say.
New to kickboxing? Start at Premier Martial Arts Riverton
Premier Martial Arts Riverton comes up as a beginner-friendly gym — noted on their own site. If you've never thrown a punch or a kick, that's exactly who a good beginners class is for. A few things worth knowing before your first week. First, you don't need to be fit or coordinated to start — you get in shape by training, not before it, and coaches scale every drill to you. Second, you won't be thrown into hard sparring — reputable gyms build the basics (stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads and bags) first, and any contact eases in gradually under a coach's control. Third, all fitness levels really are welcome — ask about a dedicated beginners or fundamentals class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most gyms are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.
Your first kickboxing class at Premier Martial Arts Riverton
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
