I’ve been training here for over four years, and the coaches are amazing. The atmosphere is super welcoming, and everyone at the gym is great to train and spar with. It’s a fantastic place to learn Muay Thai while getting a solid workout.
The trainers at Pacific Muay Thai are very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and eager to teach! Everyone that goes to the gym is awesome and super fun to train with. Get ready to sweat your ass off and work hard👊
Great environment to train, helpful coach & friendly team! Learned a lot from 1 day free trial & the coach even said I could return until I had the funds. I didn’t want to take advantage of his kindness so I didn’t return but if I did have the money I would train here all the time, I recommend for anyone interested in…
New to kickboxing? Start at Pacific Muay Thai
Pacific Muay Thai comes up as a beginner-friendly gym, going by their listing and members’ reviews. If you've never thrown a punch or a kick, that's exactly who a good beginners class is for. A few things worth knowing before your first week. First, you don't need to be fit or coordinated to start — you get in shape by training, not before it, and coaches scale every drill to you. Second, you won't be thrown into hard sparring — reputable gyms build the basics (stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads and bags) first, and any contact eases in gradually under a coach's control. Third, all fitness levels really are welcome — ask about a dedicated beginners or fundamentals class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most gyms are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.
Your first kickboxing class at Pacific Muay Thai
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
