Amazing coach and gym! Mr. Christian works with all ages and skill levels. Definitely not a McDojo! You can tell this is his passion and he cares about his students journey and development. We have been going for over a year and I highly recommend Jade Martial Arts Academy for everyone from 3 year olds to adults.
My daughter has been going to Jade Martial Arts for 4 months now and she absolutely loves it. Coach Christian and the assistant coaches are all fantastic. They provide great instructions and expectations, encourage everyone to do and be their best, and to help each other so the whole class improves together.
High level instruction for all ages. Excellent at connecting with students and finding ways to make things click. Day one or year five, you’ll always come away with as much as you’re willing to learn. And for the more experienced you’d be hard pressed to find a higher level striking coach not just locally, but period.
Incredible martial arts training! Tons of classes/options for people of all ages and abilities. Great teammates to train with. Mr. Christian is extremely knowledgeable, uses many different teaching styles to help his students, and loves what he does! Check it out!
Your first kickboxing class at Jade Martial Arts Academy
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
