From the reviews
Honest review from someone continuously becoming a healthier version of themselves: Took an early lunch hour and Tried out a 9Round Fitness/Kickboxing one on one class. I didn't hate it but didn't love it either. It was more of a boot camp style class, and it's not for me.
Being able to show up at any time (vs having scheduled "class" times) has meant that I've been able to keep my commitment to myself of working out 3 times a week. Having 30 minute workouts? Means I can work out and still have time in my evening for other things.
The 9Round facility is amazing and has the best workouts and trainers. I always leave feeling energized and accomplished. Even if I'm in a bad mood, I know I can go into the studio and punch and kick some things and leave feeling better.
Coach Dedrick did very well this was the best workout I ever experienced. Highly recommend this place if you want to work out and stay in shape but also have a fun time doing it . He is very detail oriented and helps you focus on one areas you want to improve in.
New to kickboxing? Start at 9Round Kickboxing Fitness -Tallahassee, FL
9Round Kickboxing Fitness -Tallahassee, FL comes up as a beginner-friendly gym — noted on their own site. If you've never thrown a punch or a kick, that's exactly who a good beginners class is for. A few things worth knowing before your first week. First, you don't need to be fit or coordinated to start — you get in shape by training, not before it, and coaches scale every drill to you. Second, you won't be thrown into hard sparring — reputable gyms build the basics (stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads and bags) first, and any contact eases in gradually under a coach's control. Third, all fitness levels really are welcome — ask about a dedicated beginners or fundamentals class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most gyms are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.
Your first kickboxing class at 9Round Kickboxing Fitness -Tallahassee, FL
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
