From the reviews
New member to this gym and already thanking myself for joining after a few weeks. I've gotten a bit off routine and was looking for a gym that would get me back on track, but not intimidating. This gym fits the bill! Also decided to enlist extra guidance from a personal trainer - Paul Chmura.
I had been looking for martial arts classes for my 4 year old son for a while now. I found UFC in Yorktown and gave them a call. I was so surprised with how fast they were able to set up a trial class for my son to see if he’d like it.
Brian Akins? More like Flyin’ Brian 😎man is a MMA guru. Ben? More like the face of UFC 💅🏽. Charisma so strong it should be regulated. Ben warms hearts, melts tension, and could probably fix Wi-Fi just by walking in 🥰. Josh? More like class clown with unlimited funnies - yet somehow still locked in and professional.
I have just started at UFC gym Yorktown . I can’t express how happy I am with the short two weeks I have been going . I love the HIIT / boxing classes . I love the members I am meeting along the way as well . I also need to mention the support they have for first responders .
Your first kickboxing class at UFC GYM Yorktown - Lombard IL
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
