From the reviews
Experienced my first Rumble Boxing class ever today, and they totally kicked my rear! Such a different work out from all the other high intensity classes and Pilates classes I’ve done in the past. The mix between body workouts, weights and bag punching is insane.
Rumble boxing is a fast paced studio fitness experience offered in arsenal yards. Switch back and forth between performing basic combos on teardrop shaped bags, and moderate rep full body dumbell workouts on benches.
Started in May 2023, it's now August 2024 and still going strong! After 1 yr, my body became more trim, my double chin and back fat disappeared! Most importantly, my energy level is at its highest ever! Every class helps me burn 300-400 calories consistently.
If you're looking to shake up your workout routine, Rumble Boxing is the perfect place to do it! The group workouts are not only intense and effective but also incredibly fun and engaging.
New to kickboxing? Start at Rumble Boxing
Rumble Boxing comes up as a beginner-friendly gym — noted on their own site. If you've never thrown a punch or a kick, that's exactly who a good beginners class is for. A few things worth knowing before your first week. First, you don't need to be fit or coordinated to start — you get in shape by training, not before it, and coaches scale every drill to you. Second, you won't be thrown into hard sparring — reputable gyms build the basics (stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads and bags) first, and any contact eases in gradually under a coach's control. Third, all fitness levels really are welcome — ask about a dedicated beginners or fundamentals class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most gyms are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.
Your first kickboxing class at Rumble Boxing
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
