From the reviews
Variety of classes offered week in and week out. Pete (owner) does an excellent job teaching students. I came in with little experience and have an absolute blast every time I attend a class. Morning and night options available! Whether you’re new to mixed martial arts or you’re an expert join our team!
Pete was very knowledgeable, and showed exuberance towards his students. The workout flowed nicely, and had great energy/pace. 10/10 would recommend. Wish I had a bandaid for my big toe as twisting tore the skin, but I’m not a crybaby and pushed through it.
Amazing training and awesome people! This place has genuinely changed my life for the better. Coach Pete is a great motivator and helps all of his students get better. I always look forward to the next time I get to train!
Great place to train and hone your craft. Pete is a solid coach and mentor, the gym has a great crowd and lots of experience. I highly recommend this gym for anyone who wants a challenge and to better themselves.
Your first kickboxing class at First Response Mixed Martial Arts and Behring Jiu-Jitsu LLC
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
