From the reviews
I’ve been a member for a couple of years here and will continue to lift here as long as I’m in Highland. I was initially nervous because I’m very “to myself” when I lift and this gym is known for their tribe (in the beginning I wasn’t really interested in this aspect if I’m being honest) but WOW was I wrong.
Kid friendly. I started at this gym solely because I could bring my kids. This has been the best year ever. No, the kids aren't keeping you from working out. No, they aren't crying and screaming. Yes, they are learning how to take care of their bodies in today's world. So if you don't have kids- no problem.
Just joined about 6 months ago. I’ve been a member of a different gym about 9 years. This is an amazing gym. The classes are the best workout ever! The people are all uplifting and amazing! I’m noticing results from classes that I didn’t get at my old gym. Travis and the Alphas team are absolutely great!
Alphas Gym is an exceptional gym! We were visiting for a week and did a guest pass for a week. The gym is fully equipped with any and all weights you could ever need, lots of free weights and dumbbells which is what I work out with most.
Your first kickboxing class at Alphas
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
