From the reviews
My son (now 8 years old) and I have both been training at Zhen Ren Chuan for the last 4 years or so. I have studied at a number of Martial arts schools over the years, and I can say without hesitation that Zhen Ren Chuan is entirely in a class by itself.
We have sent our son to other martial arts schools in the area that were not able to control 5 and 6 year olds. At this age it is less about the actual punches and more about self control, listening and respect. Instructor Charles had my (very antsy) son listening within the first 3 minutes of meeting him.
Instructor Charles is absolutely wonderful! He has worked wonders for my son and continues to do so. He has taught my son not only martial arts but, also manners, self discipline, meditation, how to speak up, how to listen, and given him the confidence which he didn’t have up until a few months ago before we came to…
My 6-year-old daughter has been a student at Zhen Ren Chuan for almost a year and a half and it has been a great experience. Charles and the assistant instructors combine just the right amount of discipline and gentle encouragement, which works like magic for getting a class of young kids to focus and follow…
Your first kickboxing class at Zhen Ren Chuan Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
