From the reviews
A Truly Premier Experience! I trained here since 1999 and my children started 2023. Al Garza Premier Martial Arts is simply outstanding! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Our family has had an incredible experience with AGPMA. Both of our children have attended classes here. Our son is currently on a short break but plans to return soon, and our daughter is actively testing for her 2nd degree black belt while also participating in several of the other martial arts programs they offer.
We LOVE this place! The staff are so friendly and genuinely caring. My son has grown so much. They have lots of extra classes and fun activities to keep everyone growing and interested. I love the Christian environment.
Great place. Great instructors. My sons have leaned so much. We have formed relationships we will cherish. I also train there and love it! It’s not just for kids!!
New to kickboxing? Start at Premier Martial Arts League City
Premier Martial Arts League City comes up as a beginner-friendly gym — noted on their own site. If you've never thrown a punch or a kick, that's exactly who a good beginners class is for. A few things worth knowing before your first week. First, you don't need to be fit or coordinated to start — you get in shape by training, not before it, and coaches scale every drill to you. Second, you won't be thrown into hard sparring — reputable gyms build the basics (stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads and bags) first, and any contact eases in gradually under a coach's control. Third, all fitness levels really are welcome — ask about a dedicated beginners or fundamentals class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most gyms are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.
Your first kickboxing class at Premier Martial Arts League City
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
