From the reviews
Coach Cheeks is down to earth and passionate about what he does. He implements rules that help with respect, dignity, responsibility, dependability...etc. which are right in line with how I'm raising my kids. The price point per month is fantastic for what you are getting. I was paying hundreds more before I found him!
I love training here! Coach cheeks is amazing and really knows his stuff. I mean he is a champion/pro. 😉 if you have kids: bring them! Wifey feels like building that extra sexy body send her to coach V. Son needs to defend himself from the internet trolls and get tough skin send him in.
So my son started here 10 months ago. I saw how good Coach was with the kids. And all it did for my son Taught him life skill self-defense, respect. All that being said, I actually wanted to join my self. But I was a bit nervous as I knew nothing about BJJ or had I ever done really any contact sport.
My daughter started in the children’s MMA program when she was four and has been going for several years now. We both loved it so much that I started the adult kickboxing class a few months later. Coach Cheeks is so wonderful with the kids. He really cares about all of them and takes an interest in them beyond class.
Your first kickboxing class at PRESS Forward MMA & Fitness
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
