From the reviews
My kids attended many Taekwondo schools over the years due to relocation, closings or just trial and error, looking for a good fit. My kids are so happy that we’ve finally found a Taekwondo home in Kwon’s. Whether you’re a recreational student or a high-performance athlete, Master Viet is so great with kids.
I used to do kickboxing here at least 3 days a week and was in the best shape of my life many years ago. The former owner Cosmo Bisazza Senior was my greatest motivator and helped me whip my butt into shape. The classes were small and Cosmo Jr. also had a hand in our training.
Master Viet Nguyen knows how to meet each student's specific needs and helps them achieve their personal goals through martial arts training. The quality and the quantity of training are both very high and each student/family decides what is the right level based on their needs.
Just attended my friend’s kids birthday party here and it was such an amazing experience. Kids had a blast doing a bunch of fun activities (kicking planks, doing obstacle course) and were totally engaged. The instructor was fantastic and was very knowledgeable and awesome with kids. It was very interactive.
Your first kickboxing class at Kwon's Martial Arts Center
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
