From the reviews
My experiences with Far East Martial Arts have always been positive. Sifu Mike is a colleague as well as one of my instructors, and always goes out of his way to help his students.
My son loves coming here! He is deaf, so he is comfortable in very few places with other hearing kids, but since his first day, they made him feel welcome and more importantly, included. The first class is free. There is a monthly fee or a year contract, and they DO discuss terms before accepting.
My son (7yrs) randomly decided he wanted to start MMA but didn’t know exactly what within MMA. I spoke to Becky who guided us through the process and set up a trial lesson. My son fell in love with it and we signed him up right away. He wants to go everyday and tries to wear his “uniform” to bed.
Words can not express how wonderful our experience has been. From the moment we first came to ask questions and to see what/how the classes are to currently. The atmosphere is always positive, encouraging, and welcoming. Not only myself but my whole family are doing classes.
Your first kickboxing class at Far East Martial Arts & Fitness
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
