“Sometimes the kids get frustrated when it's not what they want to do but when they see the big picture, they love it and they have a skill should they ever need to use it.”
“In my 20"s and early 30's I had do kickboxing and boxing and even though I have a couple of frozen shoulders, I thought maybe I could join the boys .”

“Very knowledgeable instructor, but, is a bummer that he only teaches in the evenings 1 or 2 hour a day.”
From the reviews
Luis is a truly talented martial arts instructor. He pays attention to each and every student and varies his approach depending on age and personality. My son was very uncoordinated when he first came in but thanks to Luis he improved tremendously in just 3 months.
My three sons started at Avatar Martial Arts about 7 months ago. The older two had been taking Martial Arts for over 6 years and had reached a recomended second degree black belt but they really had no knowledge of how to use what they had recived their blackbelts for, and their technique was off.
I am taking a self-defense class at Avatar. My instructor, Louis, is amazing. I've learned a lot! Highly recommend for all ages.

Your first kickboxing class at Avatar Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
