From the reviews
My daughter has been attending Ascend for a year and has enjoyed the experience immensely. She consistently looks forward to her classes and has developed significantly as an individual over the past year. Beyond improving her physical strength and self-defense skills, she is taught discipline and respect.
The best decision of my life and for my family! Amazing staff, great community, exciting events all year round and the best place to train and grow as a martial artist. It’s been 3 years and I have never been so close to my kids because we are all training on the mat! Family time is taekwondo time for us.
I've been really happy with this location. They keep the whole team moving and working together the whole time. Motivation can be tough sometimes, but it's never a problem here. Respect and teamwork are rewarded and encouraged both inside and outside of class.
Me and my daughter Jaina got our first degree black belt here and our favorite place to hangout, practice and it’s an amazing part of our lives. We are so happy and grateful to our master, Master Cancino and his staffs are amazing and world class champions. Thank you ascend martial arts
Your first kickboxing class at Ascend Martial Arts - South
Nervous about walking into a kickboxing gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics — stance, footwork, and punches and kicks on pads or a heavy bag — not hard sparring. Go at your own pace and rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, and supportive trainers. What to bring: water, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them — many gyms lend loaner gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves and wraps (and shin guards once you start sparring). Sparring is optional and eases in gradually, once your basics are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
